
Founded in 2008, CrossFit Asia holds the distinction of being the first CrossFit affiliate in all of Asia. What began as a small group of passionate CrossFitters in Okinawa has grown over nearly two decades into one of the most respected affiliates in the global CrossFit community. From day one, our philosophy has been simple: mechanics and consistency before intensity. We believe this approach is what builds lasting fitness and keeps our members moving well for years to come. Over 18 years, our coaching staff has evolved into a team of experienced, credentialed trainers dedicated to helping every member — from first-timers to seasoned athletes — reach their full potential.
CrossFit Asia has long been recognized as one of the fittest gyms in Japan and across the Asia-Pacific region — a reputation built on the dedication and hard work of our community over nearly two decades. Year after year, our athletes and teams have ranked among the top in Japan during the CrossFit Open, consistently placing as one of the strongest affiliates in the country. In 2009, we sent our first athletes to compete at the CrossFit Games in Aromas, California — just one year after opening our doors. Since then, CrossFit Asia has qualified individual athletes, affiliate teams, or both to compete at the Regional and Games levels of the CrossFit Games series. Our members have represented Japan and Asia on the world stage, competing alongside the sport's elite and carrying the spirit of Okinawa to the global CrossFit community. That competitive drive is woven into everything we do. Whether you are chasing a personal record or stepping into the gym for the first time, the energy and accountability of our community will push you to be better every single day.

CrossFit is constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity. All CrossFit workouts are based on functional movements, and these movements reflect the best aspects of gymnastics, weightlifting, running, rowing and more. These are the core movements of life. They move the largest loads the longest distances, so they are ideal for maximizing the amount of work done in the shortest time. Intensity is essential for results and is measurable as work divided by time—or power. The more work you do in less time, or the higher the power output, the more intense the effort. By employing a constantly varied approach to training, functional movements and intensity lead to dramatic gains in fitness.
While CrossFit challenges the world’s fittest, the program is designed for universal scalability, making it the perfect application for any committed individual, regardless of experience. We scale load and intensity; we don’t change the program. The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree, not kind.
