The CrossFit Games Open is a six-week competition that

will begin Tuesday, March 15th at 17:00 PDT. This

competition is the first step in qualifying for the 2011

CrossFit Games. Each week, one event will be announced

each Tuesday, and everyone has until the following Sunday

at 17:00 PDT to complete the event and record their scores.

There are two ways to compete:

1. Compete at a Registered Affiliate: Attend a workout

session at a registered affiliate and submit your score for the

affiliate to validate. 

2. Compete Anywhere: Perform the workout as prescribed

anywhere you can or want, and videotape it. Submit your score

and upload your video.

We are developing a comprehensive website to handle the

technical requirements of the worldwide Open. That website

will go live the week before the competition. It will have robust

registration, scoring, and reporting capabilities. If you're an

affiliate, you will have the opportunity to Opt-In each week.

There will be a few criteria that you must abide by, but generally

you will have a lot of freedom over how and when you host the

competition.

without a press out.  The most efficient way to
do this is receiving the bar in a squatted position

Rest Day

LEAN UP CHALLENGE AND WEIGHT LOSS DETAILS:
-8 weeks long ( 2 months!!  Anyone can do this)
-3 hour Lecture on Paleo/ Zone eating 15 January 2011
@ 1300(could be longer if any of you have been to one
of our lectures before).  You do not have to attend the
Lecture but you will have to pay your entry fee by close
of business on 19 January 2011

- Eating Paleo or Zone is recommended but we will not
limited anyones participation and allow you the freedom
to make any choice that is best for you.  The challenge
will officially begin on 19 January 2011.

- Cost is Y4000, Half will come back in the form of a cash
prize and the other half will go to the games competitor fund.

- There will be a cash prize for both Weight Loss and Lean
Up Challenges
-For the weight loss challenge there are no pictures needed,
you will be required to weigh in by the 19th and then again 8
weeks later @ the end of the challenge.  Its pretty straight
forward, sign up weigh in, los lots of weight, weigh in....win
money =)
Lean up challenge
- 3 'Before' pictures taken: front view, side
view and back view.  
We recommend;
Men in shorts; Women are in shorts and sports bra/bikini top,
but it is your choice in the end.
- 3 'After' pictures taken within 3 days of the finish of the
Challenges, (in the same clothes preferably, if the will stay on)
no exceptions

-For the Lean up Challenge, Trainers will pick the the top 8
participants whose body composition changed the most (based
on pictures only, this is a lean up challenge not a weight loss
challenge which means that you could lose a minimal amount of
weight but have a huge change in body composition.)  You are
free to provide us with your own pictures but for fair comparison
having the pictures taken with the same camera in the same
place with the same lighting would be optimal. IF YOU DO
PROVIDE PICTURES FROM HOME TURN THE DATE ON ON
THE CAMERA OR PROVIDE PROOF OF LIFE BY HAVING A
CURRENT NEWSPAPER WITH THE DATE VISIBLE IN THE
PICTURE.
PICS CAN BE EMAILED TO INFO@CROSSFITASIA.COM

-The final decision will be made by our CFA community, we will
have a ballot box and members will be able to vote on who they
 feel has made the biggest change.

-If you want us to take the picture, we are more than happy to
and all pictures provided will be kept confidential.
FOOD LOGS:
While we recommend you keep a food log we are not making
it mandatory for the challenges.  If you want help or are seeking
advice not having a log (data) will make it really hard for us to
help you.  Just telling us "i have been eating good" is not what
we need to give you informed  feedback.
Why aren't we running this like we ran the last challenge?  We
want everyone new and old to the gym to have an opportunity to
improve themselves and one challenge would not meet the needs
of everyone so thats why we decided to run two this go around.

Nutrition Seminar will start @ 1300 on Saturday!!
there is no 1400 WOD....

We have had alot of people ask if they can play in
both the weight loss and Lean up challenge? Yes!!
But you have to pay the entry fee for each!

Recently there has been some interest expressed for
a Teen Camp and eventually a Teen WOD... We are
working on it so if you know of teens interested in
CrossFit from 12-16 yrs of age let us know so we
can make this happen if there is enough interest!

We just registered for a LEVEL 1 Certification in April,
if you are interested in getting certified as a CF trainer
or just want to learn more about the "why" of CrossFit
this is a great opportunity.  Did you know we are now
ANSI accredited?  I will post the registration
link later this week!

Speedway, Indiana, assigned to 3rd Battalion, 1st

Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, 1 Marine

Expeditionary Force, based out of Camp Pendleton,

California, was killed on June 7, 2010, while supporting

combat operations in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.

He is survived by mother and stepfather Don and Trisha

Stockhoff; father and stepmother, Kevin and Kim Rankel;

and brothers Nathan Stockhoff and Tyler Rankel.

NUTRITION SEMINAR 15 Jan 2011
This will be the kick off of the Lean up and weight loss
challenges!  If you are participating the seminar is free
of charge.  For those not participating and non-members
there is a Y1200 fee.  This will  be a full blown Nutrition
dealio so bring some snacks because we are estimating
about 3-4 hours worth of information and question and
answer.

Lean up and Weight loss Challenges:
Lean up Challenge much like the past will be judged on
overall body composition change over an 8 week period. 
Unlike in the past we are making this a dark horse challenge
which means that no one has to know you are playing in the
competition (except the trainers of course).  We will provide all
the rules for the challenge by the 15th!

Weight loss challenge:
This is a straight up percentage of body mass lost over 8 weeks
wins.  there will be no pics, no judging, just a weigh in on the first
day and last day of the challenge.

Another change we will be making minimal input in regards to your
diet.  We will present all the information you need to make informed
decisions on your nutrition @ the seminar but we are leaving it up to
you to seek out guidance/ assistance.

We got alot of work done today but we weren't quite able
to get the new pull up rig completed.  The gym is in shambles
but still open.... please bear with us... It shouldn't effect your
work out.

"Lean Up Challenge and Weight Loss Challenge"
We are going to start an 8 week lean up and
Weight loss challenge (two different challenges) on
the 15th.  Buy in is Y4000 and a large portion of the
money raised will go back to the winners!!  If you
wonder what we do with the we raise though the
throwdowns and challenges, all proceeds will go
toward funding an afflilate team to fly back and
compete in the CrossFit Games in July!!

of our bootcamps and have become  gym
fixtures ever since.  Even the kids have gotten
